How to Remove Oxidation from RV Fiberglass

If you wipe your RV and your hand comes away white and chalky, that's oxidation.
How do you remove oxidation from an RV?
Light oxidation can be removed with a cleaner wax. Moderate to heavy oxidation needs machine compounding and polishing to cut away the dead, chalky gelcoat and restore gloss, followed by wax or sealant to protect it. This is the Slums RV Restorer package at $35 per linear foot.
Why it takes skill
Gelcoat, painted full-body caps and decals each react differently to a machine. Knowing how much to cut — and where to stop near graphics — is the difference between restored and ruined.
